The 6 Steps to Launching Your Dream Business

Tired of living a paycheck-to-paycheck lifestyle or being unfulfilled in the corporate rat race?

Doubts are part of the journey. It's like trying to ride a bike for the first time – wobbly, uncertain, maybe even scary.

So I want to give you the 6 steps to launching your business–and no, this has nothing to do with picking the right trading name, designing a website with the perfect brand colours or setting up a brand-new Instagram account.



1. Be Clear on Your WHY

They say a successful business makes loads of money, right? The goal is to swim in cash.

But before you start envisioning a cash-filled bathtub, pause and ask yourself:

  • What does success truly mean to you?

  • What does it look like?

  • Why are you venturing into the entrepreneurial jungle in the first place?

Of course, you want to be filthy rich; but take a moment to untangle the knots of your deeper desires.

Maybe it's the liberating taste of financial freedom, the desire to ditch your 9-5 and work on your own terms, the dream of spending more quality time with your loved ones or perhaps the allure of working from a beach in Bali. 

Your "why" will be your compass, steering you through the thick entrepreneurial jungle.

It will be your reminder to keep on going when times get rough.


2. Choose Your Niche Wisely

You’ve heard this over and over again: choose a profitable market.

But what if, instead of trying to fit in with the big players, you focus on a niche with a unique problem to solve? Then you won’t just be another business selling a product or offering a service; you'll be the superhero swooping in to save the day–the go-to source for individuals dealing with specific challenges, positioning your brand above competitors who may be offering generic solutions.

Choosing a niche isn't just about chasing profits–it's about finding your unique value proposition (or Unique Selling Proposition, commonly known as USP) and establishing a meaningful connection with your target audience. While the traditional advice of selecting a profitable market is undeniably important, the real magic lies in identifying a niche that aligns with your passion and expertise.

Dive into a market segment that resonates with your personal interests and skills. By doing so, you’ll position yourself as an expert in your field but also bring genuine enthusiasm to your business. This authenticity can be a powerful magnet, attracting customers who appreciate your dedication and authenticity.

Have you ever seen the movie Luck? The inhabitants of Bad Luck Land have such a positive attitude towards life, even though they’re plagued by bad luck. Why? Because whenever bad luck strikes, they’re creative enough to turn things around for good. A football gone flat? Awesome! It’s now a frisbee.

Leveraging constraints encourages a shift towards resourcefulness. Rather than searching for large investments or other resources, you learn to maximise the potential of what you have.
